Client Jo came to Lee with several pieces that all had great sentimental value to her and her family. She dumped them all on Lee;s work bench and allowed his creative juices to flow. The most important pieces Jo had were the Ministers Stoles her father wore when he was a missionary in South America. Using these as the center piece for his creation, the Master Upholsterer found an old chair in his storage and re-upholstered it turning it into a usable scrapbook chair that would take Jo's breath away.

Lee Williams European Aritzan is an expert Upholsterer, Husband and Father. Hailing from Stoke on Trent in England, Lee recently moved to San Antonio, Texas where he practices his trade.
Lee's fascination with color and design began at an early age, and continues to occupy his days in his Upholstery shop in San Antonio, Texas. While growing up in the inner city the cement walls of Stoke were often grey, but Lee spent hours examining the detail of buildings often creating intricate drawings beyond his years. His attention to detail, and impressive talent often saw him being pulled form class to create a theater backdrop, or to represent his school in local and national art competitions. It was while attending Burslen Art School in England that Lee discovered his obsession, and began his love affair with Textiles. After art school he served an apprenticeship and gained a London's Cities and Guilds Certificate in Furniture Upholstery making him a Master Upholsterer. |
Refusing to let pre-conceived ideas of mid century fabrics dictate his creative process Lee used modern colors and textures to bring this piece into the 21 century. |
Formerly a dirty, worn out, trash dump find this elegant, sleek, velvet chair has been transformed.
